St. Joseph’s Health in Totowa, NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, providers and nurses by preparing patients, taking vital signs, handling chart prep, phlebotomy, procedure assistance and lab sample collection.

You will use department computer systems for entry and retrieval of patient data. The role requires a high school diploma, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and current certification/registration (AAMA, NHA or AMT).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Must have and maintain current certification or registration from an accredited institution (AAMA, NHA, AMT).
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic medical assistance to physicians/providers and nurses by preparing patients, including vital signs, chart preparation, phlebotomy, procedure assistance and lab sample collection.
• Utilizes department-specific computer systems for entry and retrieval of patient data.
