Job summary

This role requires a high school diploma, CMA or RMA certification, and phlebotomy training or checklist completion within 6 months. Outpatient experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• CMA or RMA certification required.
• Phlebotomy certification or completion of phlebotomy checklist within 6 months of hire.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, proof of current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by giving clear directions and addressing patient concerns.
• Ensure completion of forms vital to the revenue cycle (orders verification, waivers for non-covered services, encounter forms).
• Provide instructions to patients under provider direction.
• Ensure complete and accurate information in the patient chart.
• Clean and disinfect exam rooms.
• Comply with OSHA, CLIA and HIPAA requirements.
• Assist with patient requests and referrals.
• Interact with billing to resolve patient issues.
• Provide patients with good customer service.
• Document in chart and EHR the appropriate history and prepare patient for session.
• Conduct urine drug screens and phlebotomy as required.
• Complete prior authorizations and obtain exams as required.
• Perform Point of Care testing as per policy.

Education

High School degree or equivalent

CMA or RMA certification

Phlebotomy Certification or completion of phlebotomy checklist within 6 months

Valid driver's license and auto insurance

1+ years' outpatient medical office experience

Bachelor's or Associate's degree
