Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical care under supervision of a nurse or physician. The role includes exam room prep, patient transport, vital signs, and basic lab tasks; the CMA will also help with billing steps and maintain patient records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam room, treatment room, supplies and instruments.
• Prepares patients for physician visit and examination assistance as directed.
• Takes patient vitals and records in medical chart.
• Operates and cares for medical equipment as directed.
• Performs EKG, PFT, Audiometry and Titmus Test as indicated.
• Performs UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy and other lab testing as indicated.
• Maintains patient records and submits reports.
• Assists with collections and billing procedures as needed.
• Uses computer software to maintain office systems.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and communicates appropriately with patient populations.
• Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
• Lifts at least 5 lbs, pushes/pulls 10 lbs, and stands for 6 hours daily.
