Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical care under supervision of a nurse or licensed practitioner and to provide clerical office assistance. The role requires preparing exam rooms, assisting with physician visits, and performing vital signs and basic tests.

Hours are typically 8:00-4:30 or 8:30-5:00, with one late night per week (10:30am-7:00pm Mon-Thu). Must have a high school diploma or GED; graduate of an accredited medical assistant program is

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, treatment rooms, supplies and instruments.
• Assist with physician visits and examinations as directed.
• Take and record patient vital signs and document in medical chart.
• Perform EKG, PFT, audiometry and related tests as indicated.
• Maintain patient records and confidentiality; manage files and reports.
• Assist with collections and billing procedures as needed.
• Utilize computer software to maintain office systems.
