Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care providers. The role includes patient preparation, vitals, lab processing, and assisting with procedures. It also covers front desk tasks and charting in the electronic health record.

Day shift, full-time position at the Metroform Medical Complex location, Newark, DE. Commitment to patient care and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Certification from one of: AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA, NHA, NAHP or NPCE.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year MA experience in a physician's office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Show patients to exam room and interview patients.
• Measure and document vital signs (pulse, temp, BP, weight, height) in EHR.
• Take labs, prep for pickup and document in patient chart; coordinate with departments.
• Set up exam room and assist with procedures as directed (gynecological exams, minor surgeries, biopsies, sterile techniques).
• Assist with front office tasks: reception, medical records, scheduling and billing.

As a Certified Medical Assistant, You Will

• Show patients to exam room, interview patients, measure vital signs (i.e. pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height) and document in Electronic Health Record.
• Accurately assesses patient symptoms, reactions, and physical condition and records data in the medical record.
• Take any necessary labs, prepare for pick up and record in the patient electronic health record, communicate with the appropriate departments on protocol for all labs and receiving all information they need for procedures.
• Properly sets up exam room and prepares patients for examinations and procedures. Assists with procedures and examinations per physician/healthcare provider preference, i.e. gynecological exams, minor surgeries, electrocautery, biopsies, sigmoidoscopies, casting, sterile technique procedures, and specimen preparation.
• Maintain knowledge and skills of front office operations. Assists as necessary with reception, medical records, scheduling and billing functions of the office.

Minimum Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certification from one of the following organizations: AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA, NHA, NAHP, or NPCE
• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• 1+ year of previous Medical Assistant experience in a Physician's office (preferred)
