Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain/document vital signs, height, and weight.
  • Schedule referrals and maintain referral tracking in the EHR.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens according to established protocols.
  • Assist providers with patient care, including medications, immunizations, injections, diagnostic orders, and routine prescription refills as directed.
  • Initiate and update patient Care Plans and Advanced Directives according to PCMH protocols.
  • Provide approved patient education and assist with provider callbacks.
  • Maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation and daily worklists.
  • Follow infection-control procedures and clean, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment.
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms and maintain clinical supplies.
  • Participate in CQI activities, staff meetings, and required training.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and provide respectful, professional service.
  • Flexibility to work at other Ampla Health locations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

General Purpose:

The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers as part of the care team, helping ensure quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain/document vital signs, height, and weight.

  • Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to perform clinical duties.
  • May be exposed to Aerosol Transmitted Diseases (ATD) and Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP).
