Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our care team. You will support patient care, assist with procedures, and coordinate information across the care team to enhance patient well-being.

The role requires strong clinical knowledge, compassion, and teamwork. You will collect vital signs, prepare patients, administer medications or vaccines, and help with patient education and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required at hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant credentials required at hire (CMA).
• Current CMA certifications (AAMA/NHA/NCCT/NAHP/AMT/MMCI) preferred or upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care per established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the healthcare provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs (BP, temp, pulse, respiration, height, weight, allergies, meds, presenting problem).
• May draw blood samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Administer medications and/or vaccines via oral, injectable, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, or inhalant routes.
• May perform routine tests including EKGs.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.

Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.

• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.

• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.

• Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.

• May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.

• Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.

• May perform routine tests including but not limited to EKG’s.

• Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire and

• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Preferred

Pay Range

$17.71 - $25.02 /hour
