Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support our care team. You will assist with screenings, clinical procedures, patient education, and manage administrative tasks using technology to coordinate care for diverse populations.

You will gather vital signs, draw blood, administer medications and vaccines, and perform routine tests like EKGs. A compassionate, collaborative, and learner-focused mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required upon hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care following established standards.
• Greet and prepare patients for the healthcare provider.
• Record vital signs: BP, temp, pulse, resp, height, weight, allergies, meds.
• Draw blood samples and prepare specimens for labs when needed.
• Administer medications and vaccines as ordered via multiple routes.
• Conduct routine tests such as EKGs as required.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.

Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns. To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.

• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.


• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.


• Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.


• May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.


• Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.


• May perform routine tests including but not limited to EKG’s.
