RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the New Brunswick location. The CMA will support providers, enhance patient care, and help create a welcoming experience across our CINJ department.

The role emphasizes teamwork, ongoing professional growth, and a commitment to quality and safety. A typical day includes patient prep, assisting during examinations, venipuncture, EMR documentation, and coordinating patient flow with the care team.

Formación

• Must hold current CMA credential (AAMA, AECA, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NCMA or NHA).
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Minimum 12 months CMA experience required; EMR experience preferred, Epic knowledge beneficial.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vitals and documenting histories.
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures as needed.
• Administer injections, collect specimens, perform point‑of‑care testing within scope.
• Document patient information and test results in EMR to support continuity of care.
• Coordinate patient flow, prep exam rooms, and maintain supplies.

A typical day for a Certified Medical Assistant may include:

• Preparing patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, and ensuring they feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit
• Assisting physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures, anticipating clinical needs to support efficient, high-quality care
• Performing clinical tasks such as administering injections, collecting specimens, conducting point‑of‑care testing, and completing other duties within scope of practice
• Accurately documenting patient information, test results, and provider instructions within the electronic medical record to support continuity of care
• Coordinating patient flow by preparing exam rooms, maintaining supplies, and helping ensure appointments run efficiently
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients regarding medications, treatment plans, follow‑up appointments, and preventive care
• Scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and collaborating with the care team to support seamless patient experiences
• Contributing to a collaborative team environment where professionalism, communication, and patient‑centered care are shared priorities

To be considered for this Certified Medical Assistant opportunity, you are passionate about delivering compassionate patient care while creating a positive experience for every individual you serve.

• This position offers a consistent full‑time schedule, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. You will be required to work 1 to 2 Saturdays each year.
• You hold a current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential (AAMA, AECA, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NCMA, or NHA) and a current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• A minimum of 12 months CMA experience is required and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, Epic, knowledge is preferred.
