Job description

Boynton Plastic Surgery is a dynamic solo private plastic surgery practice led by Dr.

James F. Boynton, M.D., F.A.C.S., located in the Galleria/Tanglewood area of Houston, TX. The practice offers comprehensive cosmetic plastic surgery services, including skin care, injectables such as fillers and Botox, body contouring, facial procedures, and breast procedures. Boynton Plastic Surgery emphasizes high-quality, personalized care and a professional, patient-centered environment. The practice is also an early adopter of advanced technology, with Dr. Boynton being the first board-certified plastic surgeon in Houston to offer LipoSonix, a non-operative body contouring treatment. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Certified Medical Assistant role based in Houston, TX. The Certified Medical Assistant will support daily clinical operations, including preparing exam and procedure rooms, setting up instruments and supplies, and ensuring a clean, safe environment. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical histories, and consents, and assisting the surgeon with in-office procedures and treatments. The role also involves managing patient flow, providing pre- and post-procedure instructions, coordinating follow-up visits, and responding to patient questions in person and by phone. Additional tasks may include updating electronic medical records, handling basic front-office support, maintaining inventory of clinical supplies, and collaborating closely with the clinical and administrative teams to deliver a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated competency in Medical Assisting, including supporting office procedures and providing chairside assistance to the physician.
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology relevant to plastic and cosmetic surgery, with the ability to document accurately and communicate clearly with clinical staff.
  • Experience in a Medical Office setting, including familiarity with scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and coordination with administrative staff.
  • Strong Patient Care skills, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, offering education, and maintaining a professional, respectful demeanor.
  • Ability to manage and maintain accurate Medical Records, preferably in an electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within a specified timeframe.
  • Previous experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, or a related surgical specialty is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality, infection control standards, and compliance with all clinical policies and regulations
