Job summary

Opportunities Industrialization Center, Incorporated in Rocky Mount, NC is seeking a Certified Materials Handler. This full-time, on-site position requires lifting up to 50 lbs, operating forklifts, loading/unloading trucks, and performing packing and shipping tasks across on-site and off-site locations.

The role demands good communication, flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed. Experience with Bills of Lading and basic maintenance tasks is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Forklift certification required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to work different shifts, weekends and overtime as required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Attendance during normal work hours is essential to meet goals and serve customers.
• Load and unload trucks daily.
• Sort and rearrange freight for pickup.
• Band, pack, and process products daily.
• Pull labels and band containers and/or totes to secure skids for shipping.
• Inspect containers to ensure no parts are left and no damage present.
• Sand inside and edges of trays to remove burrs.
• Lifts trays by hand and keeps work area clean.
• Wash trays using high pressure equipment.
• Work at designated off-site client locations.
• Able to work different shifts as scheduled.
• Handle a variety of equipment.
• Complete Bills of Lading.
• Complete various maintenance tasks.
• Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Other duties as assigned
