Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology.
• Two years of related work experience and attainment of requisite job knowledge/abilities.
• Current mammography certification and licensure as required by WA state.
• Minimum continuing education in mammography as specified by regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and perform QA checks to ensure diagnostic image quality.
• Verify equipment operation and set imaging parameters as required.
• Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Operate imaging equipment for screening/diagnostic mammography per physician orders.
• Position and immobilize the breast to optimize visualization and adjust exposure factors.
