Responsibilities

  • Conduct or coordinate exposure monitoring, including air sampling and noise assessments.
  • Perform EHS inspections and compliance assessments.
  • Evaluate engineering controls, work practices, and PPE requirements.
  • Support hazard communication, SDS, chemical inventory, storage, and labeling programs.
  • Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Prepare technical reports, findings, and recommendations.
  • Work closely with client EHS, operations, laboratory, engineering, and maintenance personnel.

Pay Rate: $43.27 - $52.88 hourly (~$90,000–$110,000 annually), based on experience and qualifications

Job Description:

Windjammer Environmental LLC is seeking a Mid-Level Industrial Hygienist to support a major

pharmaceutical client in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. This is a full-time position with an anticipated start date of October 5, 2026. The initial project assignment is anticipated to last six months, with the potential to extend to 12 months based on client needs. The ideal candidate will have 3–6 years of industrial hygiene/EHS experience, with a strong preference for candidates with hazardous materials, chemical safety, pharmaceutical, laboratory, or manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

  • Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of relevant industrial hygiene/EHS experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and recognized industrial hygiene practices.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work primarily onsite in the Indianapolis area.
  • Ability to begin work on or about October 5, 2026.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, laboratory, or manufacturing experience
  • Hazardous materials/hazardous waste experience
  • HAZWOPER training
  • CIH, CSP, ASP, or other relevant professional certification
