OSF HealthCare is seeking a Histotechnologist to prepare and stain tissue specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a Pathologist. The role requires experience with high complexity histology and leadership in equipment validation.
You will participate in the NACCLS School of Histology, contribute to quality improvements, and support diagnostic throughput. The ideal candidate has NAACLS HT/HTL training, 1 year of lab experience, and HT/ASCP certification eligibility within a year.

Expected pay for this position is $29.30 - $34.47/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparing and staining tissue specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a Pathologist. In doing so, performs high complexity and/or non-routine histology procedures requiring independent technical assessment of assay performance. Position is responsible for technical operation of specialized histological assays including training, education and continued quality improvement of the high complexity procedures. Position will lead and direct the optimization and validation of new laboratory equipment in accordance with applicable regulatory accrediting agencies. Position will assist with the technical oversight and directing of routine histology procedures in order to ensure high quality, diagnostic throughput. Additionally, position will be required to participate in the onsite NACCLS accredited School of Histology by ways of lecturing, providing educational resources or directing student clinical training. Position requires attention to detail, technical expertise of the chemical rationale of the assays performed and the analytic skills required to remedy any technical difficulties encountered with high complexity histology assays.
