Job summary

OrthoNebraska is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive rehabilitation for patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and conditions. The role supports individualized treatment plans to improve mobility and function and ensures smooth transitions to outpatient care or home.

Hours are 40 per week with a variable schedule, Monday through Friday, 7am–6pm. The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an approved OT program, fully licensed to practice OT in NE/IA, and

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved program for occupational therapy.
• Fully licensed to practice physical therapy in Nebraska and/or Iowa.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of hire.
• Orthopedic OT experience required; inpatient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality clinical care and customer service with clear goals and treatment plans in collaboration with patient and healthcare team.
• Provide treatment services to restore, maintain or improve patient functions.
• Promote the hospital’s vision through department initiatives and community outreach.
• Develop and enhance the department with focus on growth and program development.
• Collaborate with referring physicians.
• Provide clinical instruction to OT students and OT assistant students.
• Work with others through active listening, respectful communication and consensus-building.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Occupational Therapist this role provides comprehensive rehabilitation services to patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and conditions. This role works collaboratively with the medical team to provide individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function, ensuring a smooth transition to outpatient care or home.

Hours/Schedule: 40 / Variable Schedule, Mon - Fri 7a - 6p

Education: Graduate of an approved program for occupational therapy – required.

License/Certification

• Fully licensed to practice physical therapy in the state of Nebraska and / or Iowa – required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of hire.

Experience:Any Orthopedic experience as an Occupational Therapist required. Any Orthopedic experience as an Occupational Therapist in an inpatient setting preferred.

Physical requirements

This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiringthe exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater thannegligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those forLight Work.

Must be able to pass background check. We also conduct pre-employment physical and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical with a drug screen, background check and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
