Job summary

Beloit Health System is seeking a compassionate Certified Hand Therapist (OT) to join our rehabilitation team. You will evaluate and treat patients with upper-extremity conditions, including hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder issues, collaborating with physicians and therapists to optimize outcomes.

The ideal candidate has orthopedic hand therapy expertise, strong education and communication skills, and a current Illinois OT license with CPR within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Require OT degree from an accredited school (BOT/MOT or OT certificate).
• Expertise in upper extremity rehab and hand therapy techniques.
• Strong patient education and motivational skills.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Current Illinois OT license and CPR certification within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans for upper extremity injuries and conditions.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve function, mobility, strength, and independence.
• Fabricate, fit, and modify custom orthoses/splints as clinically indicated.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, home exercise programs, injury prevention, and self-management strategies.
• Accurately document evaluations, treatment interventions, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, hand specialists, primary care providers, and rehabilitation team members to coordinate care.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to maximize outcomes.
• Maintain current knowledge of hand therapy best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor or Master's in Occupational Therapy or Certificate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school,
• Expertise in upper extremity rehabilitation and hand therapy techniques.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent organizational, documentation, and time management skills.

• Current Occupational Therapy License in Illinois
