Spire Orthopedic Partners is seeking an entry-level Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive therapy services in a split schedule between Peabody, MA and Gloucester, MA. The role is full-time with varied hours, supporting patient care across locations.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s in Occupational Therapy, MA state licensure, and CPR certification, with strong hand-therapy and splinting experience. The organization offers growth opportunities and a supportive network.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated and completed professional Occupational Therapy training from an accredited program.
• Must maintain current state licensure through MA Allied Health Licensure.
• Must be CPR certified.
• Strong hand therapy and orthopedic experience; splinting; CHT preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, insurance regulations, policies, procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promotes independence by selecting and constructing therapies per patient capacity and interests.
• Provide comprehensive evaluations and set short/long-term goals.
• Prepare patients for daily living and work by planning discharge therapies.
• Evaluate progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain caseload to meet metrics (60–65 pts/week for 40 hrs).
• Supervise OT/COTA staff as needed.
• Complete discharges and documentation; consult with physicians and nurses.

What you’ll do:

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Promotes maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to individual's physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest.
• Provide comprehensive patient evaluations that set realistic short- and long-term goals, plans.
• Prepares patient for return to all aspects of daily living including home and employment by determining potential difficulties and implementing treatment plans to address all areas.
• Evaluates results of occupational therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress, recommending, and implementing adjustments and modifications.
• Maintains appropriate patient case load to meet company required metrics of 60-65 pts/week for a 40-hour work week.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings.
• Supervise COTA, OT/COTA students as needed.
• Completes discharges and all paperwork in timely manner and consults with physicians, nurses, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences as needed.
• Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs
• Maintains patient confidence and protects facility operations by keeping information confidential.
• Upholds a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and infection control guidelines.
• Keeps up with professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, participating in professional societies.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements.
• Fabrication of custom splints and UE orthotics.
• Maintains all inventory for splinting and patient needs.
• Reports to Occupational Therapy Lead.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must have graduated and completed professional Occupational Therapy training from an accredited program leading to, at minimum, a Bachelor's degree.
• Must maintain current state Licensure through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Allied Health Division of Professional Licensure.
• Must be CPR certified.
• Must have strong hand therapy and orthopedic experience, comfort with splinting, CHT preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and other regulatory policies.
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment.
• Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
• Develop and maintain effective and professional working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers and the public by displaying sympathy, tact and understanding.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude, adjust to various personalities, work with a diverse population, demonstrating patience and professionalism.
• Represents the clinic in a professional manner.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality on all patient issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
