Job summary

Cypress Physical Therapy is seeking a dynamic Certified Hand Therapist to join our team as a leader in hand and upper-extremity rehabilitation. You will assess, treat, educate, and collaborate to restore function for patients with hand injuries or post-surgical needs.

The ideal candidate holds a CHT and OT licensure, with hands-on experience in orthotics, EMR systems, and a patient-centered approach. CPR/First Aid is required, and ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Qualifications

• CHT designation required.
• 2+ years of hand/upper-extremity rehab experience.
• Proficient in fabricating orthotics and splints.
• Strong knowledge of hand anatomy, physiology and biomechanics.
• Licensed OT in the state.
• CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of hand and upper extremity function.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
• Utilize therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to improve ROM, strength, and function.
• Educate patients and families on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and post-treatment care.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to optimize care.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting plans as needed.
• Fabricate and fit custom orthotics and splints.
• Provide pre-surgical education and postoperative hand rehab.
• Engage in continuing education and professional development to maintain certification.
• Mentor and train other therapists in hand therapy.
