The primary function of the Flight Instructor II is to train customers to become pilots capable of safely demonstrating the skills and knowledge necessary to operate the aircraft for which they are being trained.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • The employee will be required to travel throughout all maintenance spaces, hangars, and across aircraft parking ramps, exposed to the temperature ranges found in Little Rock, AR.
  • The Flight Instructor II will be aware of potential hearing damage from noise related to the operation of aircraft and take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their student pilots.
  • This is a NON-DOT Safety Sensitive Position as part of the job duties are climbing ladders at varying heights and getting in aircraft to teach students to fly. This position is one in which lapse of attention could result in injury, illness or death. For the safety sensitive employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate on the equipment being used as well as the surroundings on the ramp around moving aircraft.
Essential Functions
  • The primary job function of the Flight Instructor II is to train student pilots using the approved syllabus for the course of instruction being conducted.
  • The Flight Instructor II position is also a sales position and the Flight Instructor II must promote the sales of goods and services at Central Flying Service LLC.
DUTIES AND TASKS
  • The Flight Instructor II will train student pilots using the approved syllabus for the course of instruction being conducted.
  • The Flight Instructor II will be issued a copy of the Flight Instructor Guidelines at the time of hire and is expected to follow the Guidelines. Any deviation from the Flight Instructor Guidelines must be approved by the Flight Training Manager.
  • The Flight Instructor II must maintain a professional bearing at all times. Also, information of a confidential nature regarding students, fellow employees, or Central Flying Service LLC must be treated as such.
  • The Flight Instructor II is responsible for insuring the schedule board is kept accurate with respect to their availability.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: College degree in Aviation
Licensing/Registration/Certification
  • Required: Certified Flight Instructor Certificate - CFI
  • Certified Flight Instructor Instrument - CFII
  • 3rd Class Medical
  • Valid Driver’s License
Experience
  • The experience required for this job position dictates the instructor has completed all FAA mandated flight training necessary for the issuance of a CFI and CFII certificates. Central Flying Service LLC would prefer that experience be part of the flight training program at Central Flying Service LLC.
Skill, Knowledge And Abilities
  • The Flight Instructor II must have the piloting and people skills necessary to be an effective teacher.
  • The Flight Instructor II must be able to provide good customer service to the student pilot/customer.
  • The Flight Instructor II must have an instructional knowledge of the subject they intend to teach.
Physical
  • The Flight Instructor II must be able to pass the FAA mandated medical exam and maintain that same physical condition in order to continue working as an instructor for Central Flying Service LLC.
  • The Flight Instructor II must be able to enter into and exit from, without assistance, all aircraft operated by the Flight Training Department at Central Flying Service LLC.
Mental
  • Must be able to read, understand, and interpret instructions and information using the English language.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate new concepts to student pilots and develop methods for insuring the student pilot can demonstrate an understanding of the concept once taught.
