Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a certified orthotic fitter to assess prescription needs and create effective treatment plans for patients requiring off-the-shelf orthoses. You will implement plans, educate patients, and ensure compliant documentation.

Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned department. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures.
A certified orthotic fitter is a health care professional who is specifically educated and trained in the provision of certain off the shelf or prefabricated orthoses prescribed by a physician. In addition, a certified orthotic fitter will be required to be proficient inpatient assessment, formulation of a treatment plan, implementation of the treatment plan, and provide patient instructions.
