Job summary

Lancaster County Economic Development is seeking a Firefighter for the Indian Land Fire District. Under general supervision, you will respond to alarms, protect life and property, and maintain all fire equipment, with a 24-hour on-duty shift.

You will conduct fire inspections, pre-fire planning, and basic vehicle/equipment maintenance, reporting through the chain of command to the Shift Captain. Stationed at Stations 1 or 2 in Indian Land.

Qualifications

• Responds to fire alarms and emergencies and maintains all fire equipment.
• Performs fire inspections and pre-fire planning.
• Reports to the Shift Captain within the established chain of command.

Responsibilities

• Responds to fire alarms and emergencies and handles fire ground operations.
• Performs minor vehicle and equipment maintenance and related tasks.
• Stationed in the Indian Land Fire District, Stations 1 or 2 with a 24-hour on-duty shift.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

NFPA Firefighter I certification (IFSAC and/or Pro-board)

Infection Control

Haz-Mat Operations

Medical first responder or South Carolina EMT

Basic Vehicle Extrication

ICS 100, 200, and 700

NFPA Firefighter II

Certifications in Technical Rescue Courses; Advanced Auto Extrication, Haz-Mat Tech, High Angle Rope, Confined Space, Trench and Swiftwater
