Lehigh Valley Health Network in East Stroudsburg, PA is seeking a Certified Emergency Department Technician for a full-time evening shift. You will maintain emergency records, stock and clean areas, assist with patient comfort, and support licensed staff.

Performs certain technical duties as assigned by the licensed staff and assists with transporting of patients, specimens, and equipment. **Job Duties*** Assists in the collection of patient history and ensures the confidentiality of records as well as cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and changes bed linens and re-stocks room supplies.* Transports patients from triage/waiting area to the treatment area in the emergency department.* Assists with clerical work such as answering phones, entering data, and maintaining medical records.* Transports patients to and from other departments and discharges patients in wheelchairs utilizing proper techniques of body mechanics to protect patients and personal safety.* Performs technical tasks such as administering a 12- lead electrocardiogram test and routine venipuncture.* Assists with orientation of new emergency department technicians.* Prepares patients for examinations/treatments such as draping patients, opening sterile supplies, and set-up and removal of IVs.* Assists in routine treatment procedures and works with staff nurse and/or physician with sterile procedures. **Minimum Qualifications*** High School Diploma/GED* 1 year of experience in an emergency department.* Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.* Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.* Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.* Ability to use emergency alert notification systems.* American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire **Preferred Qualifications*** CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire **Physical Demands** Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, \\*patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
