Job summary

Lake Drive Care & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Certified Dietary Supervisor to oversee menus, nutrition, and kitchen operations in our senior living facility. You will supervise food production, ensure therapeutic diets, and manage costs while maintaining high standards of patient care.

The role requires a CDM certification within the specified timeframe, strong communication, and teamwork skills, and the ability to respond quickly in emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Within two years of start, must attain CDM certification via Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals / Certifying Board for Dietary Managers.
• Current and active CDM certification is a plus!
• 1 year of progressively responsible experience in a commercial kitchen is desired.
• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English Language.
• Organization and management skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine quality and quantity of food; plan and prepare master menus. Supervises the planning of menus for therapeutic diets, and controls food costs.
• Supervises food production and service programs, as well as departmental staff involved
• Ensure food preparation for optimal nutrition and economic handling of food, as well as efficient usage of time. Maintain and issue a file of standardized recipes adjusted to the proper yield
• Plan menus, purchase food and assign duties for special functions. Adapt master menu cycle to individual and Center preference with Consultant Dietician
• Check food for flavor, temperature, and appearance on a regular basis
• With Contract Dietician, monitor nutritional status of residents using regular assessments, progress notes and dietary care planning
• Prepare departmental budget on an annual basis
• Maintains inventory of kitchen tools and food supplies
• Make frequent inspection of all work, storage
• Assures all regulatory requirements are met for the preparation, storage and nutritional aspects of residential food program
