Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of Optum, seeks a Diabetes Educator to lead diabetes self-management education across the clinic and collaborate with physicians and staff to improve patient outcomes.

The role requires RD/CDE credentials, 3+ years in clinical education, and a focus on evidence-based practice. You will develop education resources, participate in committee activities, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's RD from approved dietetic program is required.
• Licensed Dietitian (LD), Registered Dietitian (RD) and RD Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credentials are required or in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with physicians, health services coordinators, and nursing staff to identify patient populations needing intensive diabetes education.
• Assists in staff education related to diabetes and patient education materials.
• Develops custom patient education materials with Marketing and Health Promotion teams.
• Ensures clinic site compliance with regulatory standards and integrates changes promptly.
• Establishes and monitors diabetes education programs throughout the clinic.
• Delivers direct teaching and management of high-risk diabetes patients per endocrinologist algorithms.
• Provides nutritional assessment and counseling to help patients manage their diabetes.
• Attends Diabetes Committee meetings and maintains CDE certification.
