Job summary

BayCare in Clearwater, FL is seeking a Certified Diabetes Educator to provide expert diabetes self-management education and support to patients and providers. This full-time onsite role emphasizes clinical education, program implementation, and quality improvement within a large healthcare network.

The position involves developing education programs, facilitating community outreach, and advancing professional practice.

Qualifications

• RD or RN licensure required.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of RD experience.
• Minimum of 1000 hours of diabetes self-management training practice.
• CDCES certification required.

Responsibilities

• Implement clinical and education programs for diabetes care.
• Be responsible for quality improvement in diabetes education services.
• Conduct and support research activities and serve as a resource for patients and providers.
• Support ADA Recognized Program processes and community outreach programs.
• Team members must obtain CDCES certification within two years of hire/transfer.

The Diabetes Dietitian Educator has experience in diabetes self-management training.

• The position will implement clinical and education programs.
• Be responsible for quality improvement.
• Research activities and be an expert resource for both patients and providers.
• The position may also be responsible for the ADA Recognized Program process and community support programs.
• team members in the position are required to get certified (CDCES – Diabetes) within two years of their hire date/transfer date.

Requirements

• Registered Dietitian License (RD) OR Registered Nurse (RN)
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• 3 years of Registered Dietitian experience is required.
• Minimum of 1000 hours of professional practice experience in diabetes self-management training and has passed the Certification Examination for Diabetes Educators.
• CDCES certification
