Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN seeks a skilled Surgical Tech for the Cardiac Operating Room. The role supports the safe execution of cardiac procedures, prepares sterile fields, and hands instruments to surgeons during operations.

Requires NBSTSA certification and BLS within 30 days of hire. Educational options include a high school diploma or equivalent with experience, or an associate/technical degree; 2+ years of cumulative job-specific experience is acceptable.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
• Surgical Tech credential from NBSTSA required prior to hire date
• Education: high school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years experience OR an associate/technical degree OR 4+ years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
• Prepare operating room with sterile drapes, solutions, instruments and supplies.
• Hand instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintain and track instrument counts throughout procedures
