Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with court reporting program training and 1 year of court reporting experience.
• Georgia Court Reporter Certification required; Notary Public certification required.
• Ability to operate stenography/voice-to-text equipment and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Attend courtroom and other proceedings to record verbatim transcripts and certify records.
• Prepare certified written and electronic transcripts, proofread, bind, and file transcripts with the Clerk of Court.
• Provide calendars review support and assist other court reporters as needed.
• Record court notes during hearings and locate prior testimony as requested.
• Prepare, collate, and bind transcripts; create digital media copies and back up electronic files per law.
• Provide cost estimates for transcripts and respond within designated timeframes.
• Interface with the public in a courteous, professional manner.
• Fill in for other court reporters when requested.
• Maintain professionalism per the Judicial Council of Georgia rules and maintain certification.
