BAART Programs is seeking a compassionate Substance Use Counselor to guide patients through medically assisted treatment and coping strategies in an outpatient setting.

You will conduct individual and group sessions, assess progress, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other counselors to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Certified Counselor in the State of California.
• Experience with chemically dependent individuals is a plus.
• Successful drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Complete bio‑psychosocial assessment.
• Facilitate, establish, and review with each patient the initial treatment plan.
• Develop after‑care plans and discharge plans.
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients.
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor.

Position Overview

The Substance Use Counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisted treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid use. The counselor conducts individual and group sessions to aid in crisis management and coping strategies, evaluates patient progress during counseling, and collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to achieve improved outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Complete bio‑psychosocial assessment.
• Facilitate, establish, and review with each patient the initial treatment plan.
• Develop after‑care plans and discharge plans.
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients.
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Certified Counselor in the State of California.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is a plus. Must demonstrate a positive, non‑judgmental, accepting attitude toward our patient population.
• Successful drug screen and criminal background check.

Salary Range

Salary ranges from $26.39 to $27.39 an hour.

The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, specialty, and training.
