Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a full-time Radiology Medical Coder to perform CPT and ICD coding for radiology procedures, assign MIPs, and ensure department quality standards are met. The role requires adherence to HIPAA, CMS, AMA, WHO, and OIG guidelines, with strong attention to deadlines and accuracy.

Ideal candidates will have a medical coding certification and 2+ years of radiology coding experience, plus 2+ years in a medical office setting, and be highly organized with excellent communication

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification: Medical Coding certification through AAPC, AHIMA, RHIA or RHIT.
• Experience: Radiology coding preferred; 2+ years current coding; 2+ years in medical office or related setting.
• Skills: strong medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and ability to interpret insurance guidelines.

Responsibilities

• CPT and ICD coding Radiology Procedures.
• Assign Meri t-based Incentive Payment System (MIPs) codes.
• Maintain quality assurance standards for department.
• Report discrepancies when reviewing radiology reports.
• Understand insurance guidelines regarding medical necessity for all payers.
• Understand compliance rules for HIPPA, CMS, AMA, WHO, and OIG.
• Meet weekly/monthly deadlines with high degree of accuracy.
• Other duties as assigned.
