Job summary

AdventHealth Riverview is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinic operations and patient care. You will perform clinical intake, document results, and assist with procedures while maintaining patient confidentiality and following safety policies.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology and chronic disease management is essential. The role requires High School Grad or Equiv, plus BLS and CMA/CMAC/RMA certifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ year of related work experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and CMA/CMAC/RMA certifications required.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care during office visits, including intake, tests, labs, and medication administration.
  • Prepare patients and equipment for treatments and document results accurately.
  • Safely manage inventory and ensure medical equipment is functional.
  • Educate patients about tests, medications, and dietary instructions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information and support team teamwork.

Job Description: Travels as needed to fulfill staffing needs and support clinic operations. Stays up to date and familiar with all policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational standards. Maintains education requirements for the position and demonstrates competency through annual clinical competencies and written tests. Ensures efficient office flow by preparing patients and equipment for treatment, initiating testing, and documenting results in the practice’s designated system. Maintains OSHA regulatory enforcement and other office compliance, following safety processes and policies. Provides whole care to patients during office visits, including intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration, and closure of care gaps. Maintains confidentiality of employees' and patients' administrative and medical information. Supports staff teamwork by assisting patients, visitors, and co-workers when necessary. Performs clinical intake according to policy and procedures, including screenings, history taking, vital signs, and medication reconciliation. Assists with minor procedures associated with specialty and ensures accurate documentation at the time of service or results. Educates patients regarding tests, medications, and diet, providing clear and accurate instructions. Monitors and manages inventory, ensuring adequate supplies and functioning medical equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
