Job summary

IO Datasphere, Inc. seeks a Certified Cloud Engineer to design, implement and support a hybrid cloud platform across AWS, Azure and Google, with emphasis on security, cost control, and compliance.

You will work with vendors, developers, and IT staff to deliver scalable cloud solutions. The role requires 3+ years in hybrid cloud design, 5+ years in DevOps and .NET environments, and strong scripting and IaC skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing, implementing, and supporting hybrid cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google) with networking, compute, storage, security, scalability and HA.
• 5+ years DevOps integration with .NET environments, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and DevSecOps practices.
• 5+ years programming, scripting, configuration, troubleshooting infrastructure and working with vendors and IT staff.

Job description

IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.

Our client is looking for a Certified Cloud Engineer who will be responsible for the development, implementation, configuration, support, and maintenance of the organization’s hybrid cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.) tenants and instances. This includes the various Cloud Platform technologies (IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS), Cloud-hosted Cloud applications, strategy, and policies. This resource will be involved in the project and will work closely with the vendor throughout development, integration, testing, deployment, and production implementation. The engineer will provide technical oversight of the cloud infrastructure and make sure that cloud services are designed and implemented in accordance with State and Federal regulations (e.g NIST, IRS Pub 1075). The resource will also be responsible for developing the technical knowledge required to assume long term ownership and support of the solution following project closeout.

The Certified Cloud Engineer will participate directly in vendor design discussions and development activities, providing guidance and review of Cloud architecture, infrastructure, networking, compute, storage, databases, security services, monitoring, logging, automation used by the solution. The engineer will review and validate the vendor’s proposed architecture and configurations, identify potential risks or gaps, and make sure that cloud services are implemented using appropriate cloud best practices. The resource will also work closely with the .NET development team to support application deployment, integration, configuration, CI/CD processes, infrastructure as code, and environment management, while ensuring that the solution can be effectively supported by internal staff after transition.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with vendors, developers, architects, security teams, and internal IT staff. Also, effectively communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and transfer knowledge to internal staff to build long-term organizational capability.

Location: Madison, WI

NOTE: Must be WI resident or willing to relocate prior to start date at own expense. Hybrid: 90-100% remote but candidate should be prepared to come onsite as necessary with sufficient notice. 1000 on call hours required.

Skills Required:

• 3+ years - Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting hybrid (private & public) cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google, etc) with strong understanding of networking, compute, storage, security, scalability, and high availability.
• 5+ years - DevOps integration working closely with application development teams, particularly .NET environments, supporting CI/CD pipelines, application deployment, API integration, containers, configuration management, and DevSecOps practices.
• 5+ years - Strong experience in programming, scripting, configuration, troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application issues, optimizing performance and cost, and working collaboratively with vendors, architects, developers, security teams, and internal IT staff to transition solutions into long-term operational support.

Skills Desired -- A plus to have:
