Job summary

Montefiore Health System is seeking a Certified Central Sterile Technician for the Instrument Room. Responsibilities include decontamination, preparation and sterile processing of surgical instruments for patient use, following hospital policies.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, CRCST certification, and a nationally accredited central service exam completion. Day shifts and a 7 AM–3 PM schedule are provided at the Wakefield facility.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a nationally accredited central service exam for Central Service Technicians.
• Credential: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, prepare and sterilize surgical instruments in the Instrument Room.

Summary Of Position

The Certified Central Sterile Technician will perform their duties within the Instrument Room areas, including the decontamination, preparation, and sterile processing of surgical instruments and supplies for patient use in accordance with Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures.

SCHEDULE:

7 AM-3 PM. Days vary.

Education, Training & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a nationally accredited central service exam for Central Service Technicians.
• Holds and maintains the following credentials administered by a nationally accredited central service technician credentialing organization: Certified Registered Central Service Technician, (CRCST).
