Job Description

Preventing, evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating injuries in athletes/patients, working closely with coaches, medical staff and physicians to ensure athletes/patients can safely return to competition/work by providing emergency care, developing injury prevention programs, and managing rehabilitation plans for injured athletes/patients.

What you will do

Assess, evaluate and rehabilitate athletes/patients physical and mental abilities, review available medical record, and analyze medical data to determine realistic athletic training goals for athletes/patients. Plan, organize and conduct athletic training programs in hospital, outpatient clinic, institutional or community setting to rehabilitate athletes/patients impaired due to illness, injury or psychological or developmental problems. Select activities that will help athletes’/patients' skill, agility, function & readiness to play, and life-management skills within limits of their mental and physical capabilities. Evaluate athletes'/patients' progress and prepare reports that detail progress. Complete and maintain necessary records. Education and train caregivers how to provide for the needs of an athlete/patient during and after therapy. Recommend changes in athletes/patients practice, school, work or living environments, consistent with their needs and capabilities. Develop and participate in health promotion programs, group activities, or discussions to promote health, facilitate social adjustment, alleviate stress, and prevent physical or mental disability. Consult with your team to select activity programs and coordinate athletic training program with other therapeutic activities or programs. Plan and implement programs and social activities to help athletes/patients learn work and school skills and adjust to impairments.

Qualifications
