Job summary

Medic 1st is seeking a certified Athletic Trainer to join our Occupational Health team in an industrial setting. The role focuses on injury prevention, early intervention, ergonomic assessments, employee wellness, and return-to-work programs.

You will collaborate with employees, supervisors, safety personnel, and healthcare providers to promote a safe, healthy, and productive workforce while delivering on-site care and rehabilitation.

Qualifications

  • Active certification through the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers.
  • Current athletic trainer licensure or eligibility in the applicable state.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced occupational health environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site injury prevention, early intervention, and musculoskeletal care for employees.
  • Evaluate musculoskeletal complaints and workplace injuries within scope of practice.
  • Provide first aid, injury triage, and referrals for further medical evaluation.
  • Conduct ergonomic and job-task assessments to identify injury risks.
  • Recommend workplace and task modifications to reduce injuries.
  • Develop and lead stretching, mobility, and injury prevention programs.
  • Educate employees on lifting techniques, ergonomics, and wellness.
  • Support rehabilitation, return-to-work, and transitional duty programs.
  • Perform functional assessments and assist safe progression back to regular duties.
  • Collaborate with Medic 1st medical resources, safety teams, and site leadership.
  • Document encounters and maintain records per company policies.

Salary: $85,000 annually

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Position Summary

We are seeking a certified Athletic Trainer to join our Occupational Health team. This role focuses on injury prevention, early intervention, ergonomic assessments, employee wellness, and return-to-work programs within an industrial and occupational setting. The Athletic Trainer will work closely with employees, supervisors, safety personnel, and healthcare providers to promote a safe and healthy workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site injury prevention, early intervention, and musculoskeletal care for employees.
  • Evaluate musculoskeletal complaints, workplace injuries, and movement‑related concerns within the Athletic Trainer’s scope of practice.
  • Provide first aid, injury triage, and appropriate referral for employees requiring additional medical evaluation.
  • Conduct ergonomic, biomechanical, and job‑task assessments to identify potential injury risks.
  • Recommend workplace, movement, and job‑task modifications to reduce musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Develop and lead stretching, mobility, body mechanics, and injury prevention programs.
  • Educate employees on proper lifting techniques, ergonomics, injury prevention, recovery, hydration, and workplace wellness.
  • Provide early symptom intervention and follow‑up for employees experiencing discomfort, strains, sprains, or overuse concerns.
  • Develop and support rehabilitation, work conditioning, return‑to‑work, and transitional duty programs within applicable scope of practice.
  • Perform functional assessments and assist with safe progression back to regular job duties.
  • Collaborate with Medic 1st medical resources, occupational health providers, safety teams, and site leadership to coordinate employee care.
  • Assist with case management, employee follow‑up, referrals, and continuity of care.
  • Document employee encounters and maintain accurate records in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Monitor injury and employee encounter trends to identify recurring risks and opportunities for prevention.
  • Develop targeted injury prevention initiatives based on site‑specific injury and ergonomic trends.
  • Support heat illness prevention, hydration, wellness, and employee health initiatives.
  • Participate in safety meetings, incident reviews, audits, job hazard discussions, and health promotion events as appropriate.
  • Serve as an integrated member of the site’s medical and safety team with a focus on keeping employees healthy, safe, and productive.
