Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant or CRNA for Geauga. The primary location is UH Geauga Medical Center with travel to other east-side community hospitals as needed.

On-call duties include 36–48 hours per month, with patient-ready assessments and anesthesia support throughout the perioperative process. The role involves preoperative preparation, patient and family education about anesthesia, and collaboration with the anesthesia care team to ensure safe

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of professional Nursing, registered by the appropriate state-accrediting agency at the time of graduation.
• Graduate of a school of Anesthesia approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (Required)

Responsibilities

• Interviews patient and reviews data to verify readiness for anesthetic.
• Assists in education of patient and family regarding the anesthetic plan and risks.
• Prepares patient by starting access lines and initiating therapies preoperatively.
• Prepares equipment and drugs for the planned anesthetic.
• Assists with induction, maintenance, and emergence phases per ACT guidelines.
• Ensures safe transport to post-operative area and smooth handoff to nursing staff.
• Performs airway management and ventilation tasks as part of the resuscitation team.
• Primary location at UH Geauga Medical Center, with travel to other east-side community hospitals as needed. On-call 36-48 hours per month.

What You Will Do:

• Interview patient and review essential data to verify patient readiness for anesthetic.
• Assists in education of patient and family regarding the anesthetic plan and potential risks of the proposed anesthetic.
• Prepares patient by starting appropriate access lines and initiating appropriate therapies preoperatively.
• Prepares the equipment and drugs needed to perform the planned anesthetic.
• Assists with induction, maintenance, and emergence phases of the anesthetic plan in accordance with the Anesthesia Care Team guidelines.
• Ensures the safe transport of the patient to the appropriate post-operative area and provides for a smooth transition of care to the post-operative nursing staff.
• Perform those functions necessary to establish and secure adequate ventilation, including intubation for patient throughout the institution as a member of the resuscitation team.
• Primary location at UH Geauga Medical Center, with travel required to other east-side community hospitals as needed. On-call requirement includes 36-48 hours per month.

Education:

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required) and
• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) in the State of Ohio (Required)
