Job summary

Topeka Public Schools is seeking certified tutors to provide academic enrichment after school. The role supports students with individual or small-group instruction, based on each child’s needs, using differentiated approaches and CCSS-aligned materials.

Position is part-time for the 2025-26 school year, Monday-Thursday from 4:00 to 5:30 pm, at about 2–10 hours per week, at $25 per hour. Candidates must hold a current Kansas teaching certificate and be reliable and punctual.

Qualifications

• Current Kansas Teaching Certificate.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to commit to 2 – 10 hours per week.
• Knowledgeable about CCSS, technology, remediation/enrichment activities, and children.
• Willingness to meet the individual academic needs of children through differentiated approaches.
• Knowledgeable about and understand District policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Certified tutors support students in academics, data collection, and analysis.
• Provide individual/small group instruction based on student needs
• Ensure alternative instructional materials and resources that extend the required concepts
• Provide data as requested to the after-school coordinator
