Job summary

Asset Living is seeking a Certification Specialist to support site staff with certifications, audits, and corrections. The position focuses on affordable housing program compliance and annual certification processes.

The role requires at least 2 years in LIHTC or HUD programs, a high school diploma, and strong computer skills. Travel may be required, with full‑time employment and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in affordable housing programs and regulatory compliance (LIHTC, HUD Section 8, USDA‑Rural Development, etc.).
• High School diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Affordable Housing/Tax Credit certification preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.
• Strong computer skills (MS Office, Google Apps, property management software).

Responsibilities

• Assist with property program compliance and annual certification processes.
• Conduct applicant/resident certification interviews and prepare files for the third‑party auditor.
• Process certification files promptly.
• Maintain professional communication with onsite staff and the compliance team.
• Report work progress and issues to supervisor.
• Update internal tracking systems as required.
• Respond promptly to Community Manager, Regional Manager, Compliance Specialist and Compliance Director.
• Assist in initial qualifying of new construction and re‑syndicated properties.
• Overnight and air travel may be required.
• Adapt priorities and property assignments as needed.
• Enforce community rules and Fair Housing laws.
• Promote a professional image and comply with the dress code.
• Meet training requirements (Grace Hill, Safety Meetings).
• Perform additional duties as directed.

Certification Specialist

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $25 to $26 per hour.
