Job summary

Jupiter Medical Center in Palm Beach County, FL, seeks a Sterile Processing Tech for the Central Supply team. The role analyzes OR instrument needs, decontaminates and sterilizes equipment, and maintains sterile logs.

You will manage case carts, inventory, and instrument tracking while ensuring PPE compliance and safety policies are followed. The position offers on-site work, on the 3:00pm–11:00pm shift, with on-the-job training to support certification progression.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Sterile Processing Certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Prior hospital experience preferred; on-the-job training provided for certifications.

Responsibilities

• Analyze OR schedule to identify instrument needs.
• Remove soiled equipment from Patient Care Units when needed.
• Assist operation of sterile processing equipment (washers, sterilizers, Ultrasonics, Sterrad/Steris).
• Follow hospital policy for decontamination and PPE use.
• Maintain sterile core hygiene and restock per policy; attend in-services.
• Create accurate case carts using maps and pick tickets.
• Replace inventory and process instrument tracking; ensure sterility.
• Inspect and maintain instruments; maintain sterilization logs.
• Schedule sharpening of instruments; receive products and place orders.
• Communicate with OR Manager and adapt to emergencies as needed.
