Job summary

Texas Children's is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to support the processing, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and equipment. You will help ensure clinical areas have safe, properly prepared supplies needed to deliver quality patient care in a busy hospital setting.

As part of our commitment to a safe workplace, respiratory fit testing will be required in compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Processes decontaminated medical devices as they are received, according to established priorities, medical device IFU's and best practices
• Receives instruments from the decontamination area and processes appropriately
• Performs physical and environmental duties as designated on a routine daily basis, including but not limited to cleaning workspace/instrument room/cabinets, emptying biohazards waste, monitoring sterilizers, and checking environmental monitors
• Completes sterilization processes
• Performs high-level disinfection
• Performs other duties as assigned, including other essential instrument room duties
