Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Phlebotomist IV, you will competently collect blood and other patient specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring comfort and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify patients, explain procedures, perform venipunctures, and accurately label and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, adhering to safety protocols.
• Follow verbal and written instructions exactly.
• Demonstrate and promote teamwork.
• Work calmly and conscientiously under high volume and STAT conditions.
• Communicate basic information and show caring, personable interactions with patients.
• Maintain rigid accuracy in patient identification and perform phlebotomy successfully using established procedures on patients of all ages.

Required

• Valid and current California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I certificate.
• Completion of required continuing education to maintain State CPT I certification.
• Three or more years of full-time laboratory experience.

Preferred

• Knowledge of standard laboratory terminology.
