Job summary

North Oaks Health System is seeking a CERT NURSING ASSISTANT - TELEMETRY WEST - PRN to provide direct and indirect patient care under licensed nurse supervision in Hammond, LA.

Responsibilities include one-on-one observation for patient safety, assisting with nursing care plans, maintaining unit cleanliness, stocking supplies, and participating in unit meetings and in-service programs as needed. Shifts vary and include weekend/holiday coverage as required.

Status: PRN - As Needed

Shift: PRN Varies; 0645-1915 OR 1845-0715, wherever needs are.Must work a minimum of one 12-hour shift a week or two per-pay-period.One shift a month must be on a Saturday or Sunday. Must work one Major holiday a year.

Summary:

Provide direct and indirect patient care within any clinical area under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Provide one-on-one observation of selected patients for the purpose of maintaining patient safety.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
High school diploma, GED, or completion of a Nursing Assistant program is required. Enrollment in a nursing assistant program with first semester clinical rotation completed may also be considered.

   • C. Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of the unit as whole as well as individual patient rooms.
   • D. Is able to demonstrate competency in age specific criteria as applicable to job scope.
3. Assist in maintaining supply inventory.
   • A. Inspects storage areas for adequate supplies and report deficiencies.
   • B. Pick up, deliver and store supplies in appropriate place.
4. Participate in educational programs.
   • A. Attend in-service programs as provided.
   • B. Attend unit meetings.
