Kitchell is seeking a dedicated CEQA Project Manager to join our Southern California region in Los Angeles and build a long-term career at one of the most innovative construction services companies in the United States.

The role requires 5+ years of environmental planning experience, CEQA knowledge, and strong coordination with stakeholders. The position is site-based at the client location in San Diego, CA, with exempt full-time employment and competitive base pay.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years full-time professional experience in environmental planning or related field
  • Knowledge of CEQA process and related Federal, State and Local environmental policies and regulations
  • Experience in environmental planning document preparation is required

Responsibilities

  • Prepares public notices such as Notices of Exemption, Notices of Preparation, Notices of Intent to Adopt, Notices of Availability and Notices of Completion
  • Prepare meeting materials and provide support at public meetings and hearings
  • Coordinate and attend internal meetings and meetings with outside stakeholders
  • Review technical studies and environmental documents prepared by outside consultants
  • Review local development projects that have potential to impact District schools
  • Perform administrative tasks in support of projects, such as issuing work authorizations, reviewing invoices, and tracking budgets/schedules pertaining to CEQA reviews of District projects

Duties and Responsibilities

Education and Experience
  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelor’s degree is desired (a degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies or related field is strongly preferred)
  • 5 or more years full time, paid, professional experience in environmental planning; preparation of environmental planning documents and/or the environmental review process is required
  • Experience must include basic proficiency in the CEQA process and related Federal, State, and Local environmental policies and regulations
Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of CEQA and related Federal, State and Local environmental regulations required.

License and Certifications

A valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, free from suspensions or restrictions, is required.

Travel Requirements

This position is site based embedded at the client location in San Diego, CA.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a general, climate-controlled office environment.

Physical Requirements

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

The annual base salary range for this role is currently $145,000 - $160,000. The Company’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of various factors, including job-related skills, relevant education and experience, abilities of the applicant and equity with other team members. The annual base salary range listed here is subject to change at any time, in the Company’s discretion, and does not alter in any way the at-will nature of the employment relationship.
