Job summary

C.E. Precision Assemblies, a Trexon Company, is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer/Planner in Chandler, AZ. This role manages purchasing activities and inventory planning to meet production schedules and customer requirements.

The successful candidate will collaborate with suppliers, production, engineering, and warehouse teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, control costs, and ensure on-time delivery. DOE applies with experience; full-time schedule Mon–Fri with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree or certifications desired.
• 2–5+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Epicor).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong follow-up and ownership mindset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and purchase materials based on production schedules and demand forecasts.
• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders.
• Ensure proper flow down to suppliers of all contract requirements.
• Analyze material requirements using ERP/MRP systems.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Expedite critical orders and resolve supply shortages.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules with vendors.
• Track supplier performance (quality, cost, on-time delivery).

This position works closely with suppliers, production, engineering, and the warehouse to maintain optimal inventory levels while controlling costs and ensuring on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and purchase materials based on production schedules and demand forecasts.
• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders.
• Insure proper flow down to suppliers of all contract requirements.
• Analyze material requirements using ERP/MRP systems.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Expedite critical orders and resolve supply shortages.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules with vendors.
• Track supplier performance, including quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and warehouse teams to support manufacturing operations.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and supplier records.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Prepare reports on inventory, purchasing, and supplier performance.
• Coordinate with suppliers on documentation, RMA processes, and issue resolution.
• Support miscellaneous projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
• Procure tools, BOM items, and equipment as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required (bachelor’s degree or certifications desired).
• 2–5+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or Epicor).
