Job summary

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Central Sterile Technician to ensure sterilization and handling of patient care equipment. You will decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize instruments according to guidelines and hospital policy.

Preferred applicants hold a high school diploma and must obtain CSR certification within 6 months of hire and BLS within 30 days. Comprehensive benefits are offered to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• CSR Certification is required within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collects, decontaminates, stores, and distributes all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital.
• Performs inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other equipment per guidelines.
• Monitors antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing per manufacturer instructions.

How you'll contribute

ACentral Sterile Processing Technician who excels in this role:

• Collects, decontaminates, stores, and distributes all reuseable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital. Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
• Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological, and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
• Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions.
