Job summary

Beaufort Memorial Hospital is hiring a Central Sterile Processing Specialist to join the Surgical Services team in Beaufort, SC. The role focuses on decontamination, processing, sterilization, storage, and documentation of all surgical instruments used throughout the facility and remote areas.

Under supervision, you will help direct workflow, ensure instrument availability, maintain a clean work area, and provide efficient service to support patient outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Formal CSP certification and/or experience as a Scrub Technologist or nurse preferred.
• CSP certification within two years of service strongly preferred.
• Experience with sterilization, decontamination, storage and documentation of surgical instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, process, sterilize and store surgical instruments for the facility and remote areas.
• Direct workflow under supervision to ensure instrumentation availability and clean work areas.
• Provide efficient service to support patient outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Description

Responsible for working in collaboration with Central Sterile Processing Team Leader and Surgical Services Supply Manager to meet regulatory / policy requirements for the decontamination, processing, sterilization, storage and documentation of all surgical instrumentation used throughout the facility, including remote areas. Under direct / indirect supervision, responsible to direct work flow; ensuring availability of appropriate instrumentation, maintaining work area and acquiring resources. Provides an efficient and effective service to ensure excellent patient outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Position Requirements

Education

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Certification in CSP, or experience as a Scrub Technologist or nurse is strongly preferred. CSP Certification within two years of service strongly preferred.

Experience

• OR experience of at least 1 year including instrumentation and sterile processing knowledge; plus knowledge of inventory control and purchasing.

Certifications/Licenses

• CSP certification, scrub tech or Nurse strongly preferred.
