Job summary

Saint Mary\'s Hospital in Waterbury, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking a Central Sterile Processing supervisor to manage operations at the main campus and NVSC. You will lead a three-shift staff, ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate instrument tracking, and drive training and performance improvement.

The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians and nursing staff, budget responsibilities, and maintaining sterilization equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 5 years' experience in the supervision and direction of a CS department in a Healthcare Environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performance improvement and employees adherence to policies and practices that are in compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Actively promotes an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to the delivery of care.
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the department’s goals and functions.
• Communicates and collaborates with peers, staff, customers, supervisors and managers.
• Provides guidance and direction on all activities pertaining to CSP employees work assignments, quality, and development. Takes corrective action or utilizes discipline as necessary.
• Ensures the cleanliness standards are met by all.
• Maintains and oversees the instrument tracking system and the effective use and function of all instruments.
• Assures proper preventive maintenance of Sterilizer/high disinfecting/disinfecting equipment; establishes maintenance and replacement schedules.
• Interviews, hires, and trains all new staff. Provides a comprehensive departmental orientation to all new personnel and required training to all staff on a regular basis.
• Maintains continued education in the field of Sterile Processing operations and equipment through education, literature and seminars.
• Ensure proper and efficient workflow throughout the Perioperative operation.
• Performs related duties as required.
