MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital seeks a Central Service Technician to join the Central Service team. You will clean, sterilize and package instruments, maintain inventory and transport supplies, working as a cooperative team member under supervision in a routine, service-oriented setting.

This per diem, on-site role in Yakima, WA requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a Central Service Technician program (or healthcare training).

Qualifications

  • Completed Central Service Technician course or healthcare training program; military training may count in WA.
  • Nationally recognized certification (CRCST) preferred.
  • Commitment to obtain Central Service Certification within one year, as required by location.
  • Minimum one year of related experience preferred.

Position Summary

The Central Service Technician works as a team member and is responsible for providing support to the total health care team at MultiCare Health System by cleaning, sterilizing, and packaging instruments, maintaining inventory, and transporting supplies and equipment. This position is a team member requiring a cooperative manner, working under direct supervision. Work situations are basically routine in nature yet require a service-oriented individual, organization of time and equipment, independent decision making in the execution of daily routine duties, and prioritization of multiple tasks. Internal contacts occur on a daily basis and may include patient care providers and Materials Management staff. External contacts are limited but may include patients, vendors, rental companies/agencies, other health care facilities, and physicians.

Requirements:
  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of Central Service Technician course of study or completion of healthcare organization training program; military training or experience satisfies this requirement for WA state employees, per Title 18 RCW, as required by location
  • In lieu of formal training, candidates with a nationally recognized certification (e.g., CRCST) and or a minimum of one (1) year of recent sterile processing experience preferred
  • Central Service Certification or commitment to obtain within one year of hire, as required by location
  • Minimum one (1) year of related experience preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $21.29 - $29.69 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
