Job summary

Jackson North Medical Center in North Miami Beach, FL is seeking a Central Service Technician 2 to provide on-site support for reprocessing surgical instruments and trays in accordance with health standards and hospital policies. The role supports facilities within the Jackson Health System.

The position requires 1 to 3 years in sterile processing, a high school diploma (bachelor's preferred), and certification by CBSPD or IAHCSMM.

• Able to performs in all areas of sterile processing including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes within all set professional standards and regulations.
• Able to perform assembly on basic instrument trays.
• Reports broken instrumentation.
• Supports and adheres to JHS policies and procedures.
• Supervises and trains new personnel.
• Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
• Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

Operates all mechanical machinery; cart washers, instrument washers, steam sterilizers, low temp sterilizers, ultrasonic and drying cabinets, within sterile processing. Uses established policies and procedures to complete work assignments. Experience

Generally requires 1 to 3 years of experience in sterile processing.

Credentials

Valid Sterile Processing Technician Certification by CBSPD or IAHCSMM is required. Incumbents hired before November 20, 2019 must complete obtain the required certification by December 31, 2021.

Physical Requirements

• - Job function requires extended standing or walking. Must be able to carry objects weighing 21 to 50 pounds. Able to lift or move objects weighing 51 to 100 pounds with the use of appropriate devices. Jobs in this group require frequent visual acuity to perform activities related to extended use of computers.
