Job summary

Aultman Health Foundation is seeking a Surgical Services Supply Technician to manage sourcing, procurement, storage, distribution, and returns of supplies for surgical procedures. The role liaises between Purchasing and Surgical Services, ensuring adequate inventory and timely information flow in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of stockroom functions including receiving goods and processing shipments for delivery.
  • Inspect shipments of materials, equipment and supplies received; identify and immediately report shortages, damaged goods, expirations or other discrepancies.
  • Distribute incoming shipments according to established procedures.
  • Implement processes and controls for the sound management of inventory within Surgical Services
  • Utilizes and maintains the Materials Management Information System (MMIS) for the Surgical Services Department
  • Maintains the Surgical Services Store Room as a perpetual inventory secondary supply location within the MMIS system
  • Collaborates with Surgical Services Staff, Physicians, Materials Management, and Vendors to promote and practice inventory control principles
  • Implement and maintain successful purchase order process for Surgical Services
  • Maintain stockroom in a safe, clean and orderly condition; participate in cleaning rotation
  • Receive telephone calls and provide information related to stockroom activities as required.
  • Operate a variety of machines and equipment such as manual and electric pallet jacks, hand trucks, hand carts and elevator.
  • Operate a personal computer and peripheral equipment, using modern software; operate a variety of other machines and equipment.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Scope of Job

Additionally, the Technician will act as a liaison between the Purchasing Department and the Surgical Services Department. Perform a variety of duties relative to assigned area of responsibility. The position requires the ability to communicate and work closely and efficiently with others in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment

Education And/or Experience


  • High School graduate

  • Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram or schedule form.

  • Skill to operate material handling equipment such as hand carts, pallet jacks (manual and motorized), cardboard bailer etc. for successful job performance.
