State of Missouri, Division of Legal Services, seeks a Managing Attorney for the Central Region in Jefferson City, MO. Hybrid work follows onboarding; some remote scheduling may be allowed per policy.

The role leads staff and contract attorneys, handling juvenile and civil litigation to support the Department of Social Services and its divisions. Strong trial, research, and organizational skills are essential.

Competenze

Juris doctor from an accredited institution.
Three or more years’ litigation experience, including bench or jury trials.
Excellent research and writing skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Background in juvenile, family, and administrative law preferred but not required.

Mansioni

Manage full-time staff attorneys and contract attorneys within the region.
Provide legal support and advice to DSS and its divisions including Children's Division, Family Support Division, and the Division of Youth Services.
Maintain, prosecute, and defend a diverse caseload including juvenile court, circuit court, and administrative hearing cases.
Work with investigators, case workers, and court partners to provide resolutions to difficult issues.
Be well-organized, perform case analyses, spot issues, and manage time effectively.
